Dance Instructors
Christy Fisher
Christy has 20 years of dance instruction and choreography experience and is currently the Owner/Director of Innovative Movement Dance Company, IMOVE. She and her students have won countless performance, technique and choreography awards at competitions all over the United States and Europe. Many of her students have moved on to receive college scholarships for dance and have been hired for professional work.
Christy currently judges for several national dance competitions at the regional and national level. She travels the country teaching and choreographing for studios and dance teams and enjoys every minute of it. She is Co-Creator and Chair of the widely popular Push the Limit Summer Intensive. Christy resides in Highland with her husband and two children.
Bianca
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Bianca began dancing at the age of three at Legacy Dance Academy under Lisa Diaz before continuing her training at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. There, she developed a strong foundation in ballet, modern, and a variety of other dance styles while performing with the DADA Ensemble. Through this experience, she performed at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, the Kennedy Center, and numerous outreach events across the country.Bianca furthered her training through summer intensives with Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.
She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music in 2024 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance Performance and has had the opportunity to perform works by acclaimed choreographers including Victor Quijada, Kurt Douglas, Doug Varone and Aszure Barton.
Since graduation, Bianca has been teaching for the last two years and completed the Saint Louis Dance Theatre Trainee Program as she continued to grow as a professional artist. She is excited to continue her teaching journey at Innovative Movement and build meaningful relationships with the students, parents, and faculty.
Lydia
Lydia is originally from Glen Carbon, IL, and is excited to be back in the area after several years away. She grew up studying the Cecchetti method of ballet and advanced all the way through her grade VII professional level exam. She earned her BFA in ballet from Friends University in 2016 before beginning her teaching and performance career.
While ballet is her first love, she has performed and taught a variety of styles, including tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, and musical theatre. Upon graduation, she focused on teaching before joining Fort Wayne Ballet in 2018. After leaving Fort Wayne, she returned to her passion for teaching all styles of dance. She began pursuing her Cecchetti Teaching certifications in 2024 to continue to develop her understanding of technique and better serve her students. She also spent the 2024-25 season growing as an artist dancing with the Colorado Dance Collective and performing her own choreography for a music video. When she is not dancing, you can find Lydia substitute teaching or spending time with her husband and two cats.
Leah
Leah is a Highland, IL native with 12 years of competitive gymnastics and cheerleading experience. After earning her BS in Kinesiology from SIU Carbondale, she coached gymnastics, JV cheer, and worked as a personal trainer. Her passion is helping students build strong acro fundamentals, confidence, and safe technique.
Outside of the studio, Leah enjoys spending time with her husband and their 2 daughters. She is excited to be part of the IMOVE staff for her second year!
